These are general frost-relative planning windows. Seed packet, cultivar, soil temperature, heat, rainfall and local Extension guidance can move the right date.
How the calendar works
The local climate anchor is NOAA’s cautious 10% last-32°F-freeze date when available. Crop biology is stored separately. Warm crops are held back when the current NWS forecast still contains freezing temperatures.
The date is a planning anchor, not a guarantee. Local cold pockets, elevation and soil temperature still matter.

Indoor growing duration and frost-relative set-out timing are based on Cooperative Extension schedules, including University of Maryland Extension, Oregon State University Extension, University of Maine Extension, and Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
