These terms govern use of chrisizworski.com and its subdomains (the “Site”), operated by Chris Izworski. By using the Site, a visitor agrees to these terms.
The Site publishes conditions tools, guides, and writing covering Michigan and Great Lakes weather, water, ice, aurora, fall color, boating, fishing, and related outdoor topics, along with public safety and AI writing and a gardening project. Every live-data tool on the Site — ice cover, aurora forecasts, bridge and border status, buoy readings, boat launch conditions, and the rest — is provided for general planning purposes only and draws on public sources including NOAA, the National Weather Service, USGS, and the Michigan DNR.
These tools are not a substitute for official guidance, safety warnings, or on-the-ground judgment. Ice, water, weather, and road conditions can change faster than any data feed updates. Always follow official agency guidance, posted signage, and your own judgment before an activity involving water, ice, or travel. The Site's own ice-conditions tools state plainly that no ice is safe ice; that standard applies to every conditions tool on the Site.
The Site and its tools are provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Live data is sourced from third parties and, while every effort is made to keep it current and accurate, it may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Chris Izworski is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from reliance on information published on the Site.
Visitors agree not to misuse the Site, including attempting to disrupt its operation, scraping content at a rate that degrades service, or using the Site's tools or data feeds in a way that violates the terms of the underlying public data providers (NOAA, USGS, the Michigan DNR, Windy.com, and others).
Original writing, photography, and tool design on the Site are the property of Chris Izworski unless otherwise credited. Live data displayed through the Site's tools remains the property of its original source and is used under that source's public availability. The publisher embed program describes the limited, specific terms under which outside sites may embed a Site tool.
The Site contains links to third-party sites, including government data sources, news coverage, and Amazon Associates affiliate links, and may display Google AdSense advertising. Chris Izworski does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any linked third-party site. See the privacy policy for how advertising and analytics are handled.
These terms may be updated as the Site changes. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
