Why choose this waterfall?
A petite Lake Superior shoreline cascade over sculpted rock, with a very different experience than the inland Miners Falls trail. Do not confuse this small shoreline waterfall with Miners Falls inland. The eastern beach parking lot gives the shorter approach.
For a visit focused on the scenery, consider the signed approach and actual walking requirements before adding another stop. The nearest waterfall point on a map is not necessarily the closest public visitor entrance.
How to plan a worthwhile visit
From the small east-end Miners Beach lot, take the designated staircase down to sand, then walk a few hundred yards right along the shore toward the cliff where the creek drops into Lake Superior.
Choose the beach route only when waves, sand and steps permit safe access. Never follow the waterfall coordinate by car.
Check posted signs, permit requirements and current park closures; this guide reports published routes, not a live trail-open feed. Never trespass or bypass closure barriers.
Seasonal decisions
Small creek flow can nearly disappear in dry periods; Lake Superior surf is a separate access hazard.
After rain, spring runoff and warm sunset light; small creek flow varies. are typical visual conditions rather than a forecast. Snowmelt and rain can change water volume and trail footing. No mapped hydrography feature confirms current parking conditions, ice safety or waterfall discharge.
