When the live conditions matter most

During winter manatee season, the best visit decision is driven heavily by the temperature contrast between the spring and the St. Johns River. A cold river can push manatees toward the stable warm-water refuge, especially around colder mornings.

Outside manatee season, the decision shifts toward general park conditions: spring temperature, rain, wind, comfort and access. That is why the same tool should not give the same recommendation year-round.

Before driving: confirm park entry and reservation availability with Florida State Parks. This tool does not infer reservation availability from weather or crowd patterns.
