Utah ski canyon road & parking checker

Alta and Snowbird are reached through Little Cottonwood Canyon. Brighton and Solitude sit in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Your road, parking, and mountain admission are three different promises. Know what is blocked, what needs a reservation, and what still cannot be confirmed.

Live UDOT feed monitoring. A cached, missing or stale UDOT report is not official confirmation a canyon is open. We cannot verify parking inventory, lift operations, reservation ownership, bus seats or whether your vehicle meets traction requirements.

03 / Understand the place

There is no interchangeable “Cottonwoods parking lot.”

Little Cottonwood — Alta & Snowbird

Alta's Wildcat and Albion base areas are distinct from Snowbird's parking system. Upper-canyon travel restrictions may affect the final approach to Alta differently than the road below. Confirm where the restriction begins before assuming you can reach either resort.

Big Cottonwood — Brighton & Solitude

Solitude's Moonbeam lot and Brighton's parking system have different reservation hours and vehicle-occupancy prices. Four passengers may lower the posted price without removing the reservation requirement. Neither resort's parking is an overflow lot for the other.

Before paying for a nonrefundable trip, cross-check UDOT canyon notices, your exact ski pass and your resort's official parking confirmation. No road-open, safe-to-drive or guaranteed-parking verdict is issued here.

04 / Questions worth settling before your ski day

Roads, parking and pass access

Is Little Cottonwood Canyon open for Alta and Snowbird?

UDOT's SR-210 notices are the authority. This tool reports relevant hazard signals, but cannot certify road access. Check current UDOT notices.

Which resorts use Big Cottonwood Canyon?

Solitude and Brighton use SR-190. Solitude's Moonbeam parking and Brighton's lots have distinct rules; neither is general overflow for the other.

Will I need a parking reservation?

Alta, Brighton and Solitude require reservations on many peak-season mornings in 2026–27. Snowbird offers both free first-come spaces and separate reserved parking products. Choose your date and time above and confirm availability on the official resort page.

Does Ikon Base cover all four?

No. Alta is excluded from Ikon Base. Snowbird and Brighton have blackout dates and usage caps; Solitude has a different published entitlement. Verify the current pass details with Ikon.

How current are the road reports?

UDOT reports are cached across visitors, generally for up to ten minutes. The tool checks each report's timestamp and treats stale data as unknown. Confirm minute-by-minute closures through the official UDOT system.
