Out on M-68 toward Indian River, at the eastern edge of the trail. Cold-hardy grape wine and craft beer under one roof, a dog-friendly wine garden and live music, and a Tuesday and Wednesday closure worth checking before you drive out.

Worth pairing with

Alanson Swing Bridge, 6.1 miles straight line. The hand-operated swing bridge on the Inland Water Route. Five minutes, but you will stop anyway if a boat is coming through.
Oden State Fish Hatchery, 8.7 miles straight line. A free visitor center and show pond on the Crooked River side of the region, and an easy add if you are already driving out to Crooked Vine or Seasons of the North.
Petoskey State Park, 11.4 miles straight line. The classic Petoskey stone beach on Little Traverse Bay, with a dune trail behind it. Best hunting is right at the waterline after a blow.
