What makes this waterfall different?

A roughly 70-foot waterfall free-falls from Pictured Rocks into Lake Superior. Waterfall is on the cliff, not a road-accessible viewing or boat launch location.

Summer boating season; only if a suitable boat tour actually operates. These are typical seasonal characteristics, not a prediction for a particular date. Spring volume, rain, low water and ice can change the appearance and the safest viewing points.

Before you leave the car

Best seen from the water. Hiking provides limited sightlines; no pets on Spray Falls area trails. A water-view recommendation is not a forecast of cruise availability or lake safety.

Remain on designated trails and platforms. Wet roots, drop-offs and powerful currents can create hazards well beyond the actual plunge pool.
