Lewiston–Queenston Bridge Wait Times Live

Check the current official Lewiston–Queenston border delay for I-190 and Highway 405 before you enter the northern Niagara approach. In Canada the same crossing is also commonly searched as Queenston–Lewiston. Passenger, commercial and NEXUS streams stay separate, and the page adds both plaza camera views, tolls, hours and the pedestrian restriction.

Lewiston–Queenston Bridge Cameras

NITTEC provides separate views of the Lewiston U.S. plaza and Queenston Canadian plaza. The image below shows the Lewiston side; use the second official view to inspect the Canadian plaza.

How long is the Lewiston–Queenston Bridge wait?

The live answer above uses CBSA for travel into Canada and CBP for travel into the United States. Passenger and commercial reporting are separate because this crossing carries both types of traffic. NEXUS also has its own published operating windows, so an unavailable or closed trusted-traveler lane is never replaced with a standard passenger value.

Lewiston–Queenston is the northern highway-oriented Niagara crossing. It naturally serves Lewiston, Queenston, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Highway 405 and trips that already approach the river north of Niagara Falls. That route geometry is why the bridge can be the best choice even when another crossing posts a slightly shorter customs delay: driving south to Rainbow or farther to Peace can erase the apparent advantage.

Lewiston–Queenston for commercial trucks

This bridge is one of the two major Niagara options for commercial traffic, along with Peace Bridge. Rainbow does not permit commercial trucks, and Whirlpool is not a commercial crossing. Truck drivers should therefore compare the commercial stream at Lewiston–Queenston with the commercial stream at Peace rather than looking at passenger waits across all four bridges.

The official truck delay can move differently from the passenger delay because inspection demand, staffing and lane availability are different. The page keeps those streams separate. A passenger value that says “No delay” is not evidence that a commercial vehicle will experience the same processing time.

Lewiston–Queenston tolls and NEXUS hours

Tolls are collected Canada-bound under the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission schedule. The U.S.-bound direction has no bridge toll. The live summary above carries the current planning rate, but the operator's toll schedule remains the final source for vehicle classes and payment details.

Dedicated NEXUS service is not continuous in both directions. Current published information includes a daily Canada-bound window and a narrower weekday U.S.-bound window. If the dedicated lane is outside its operating period, the page will report that state rather than presenting a standard-lane wait as a NEXUS wait.

Who should use Lewiston–Queenston?

  • Northern Niagara trips.
It is the natural crossing for Highway 405, Queenston, Lewiston and many Niagara-on-the-Lake routes.
  • Commercial trucks.
Truck traffic is supported, making this a direct commercial alternative to Peace Bridge.
  • Passenger vehicles, buses and trailers.
The bridge supports general road traffic under published crossing rules.
  • Not pedestrians.
Pedestrians are not permitted. Travelers on foot should look to Rainbow or Peace under their published procedures.

Why a “No delay” report does not always mean switch bridges

If you are already in the Falls district, the drive north to Lewiston–Queenston can be meaningful. The main Niagara decision engine compares the correct official wait but also protects against recommending a detour for a small reported difference. It does not claim to know total route time; it simply refuses to treat four geographically different bridges as if they were four lanes at the same plaza.

Lewiston–Queenston crossing questions

Is Queenston–Lewiston the same bridge as Lewiston–Queenston?

Yes. Queenston–Lewiston and Lewiston–Queenston refer to the same international bridge between Queenston, Ontario and Lewiston, New York. This page uses the U.S.-first Lewiston–Queenston name while also covering the Canadian-first search wording.

Is Lewiston–Queenston open 24 hours?

The bridge normally operates 24 hours. Specific NEXUS lanes have published operating windows, and incidents or construction can change current operations.

Can pedestrians cross Lewiston–Queenston?

No. Pedestrians are not permitted. Rainbow Bridge is the more natural Falls-area pedestrian crossing, while Peace also publishes pedestrian procedures.

Can commercial trucks use Lewiston–Queenston?

Yes. It is a major commercial Niagara crossing. Compare its truck wait with Peace Bridge's commercial stream rather than using passenger values.

Is Lewiston–Queenston faster than Rainbow?

It can have a lower border-processing delay, but the crossings are far enough apart that the answer depends on where your trip is already going. Use the main comparison when you are deciding whether a reported difference is large enough to justify changing corridors.
