Read this correctly: the number is the reporting agency’s estimated border-processing delay for the selected direction and lane—not total trip time. “No Delay” is an official report, not a promise that every vehicle will cross instantly.

Questions travelers ask
Use the comparison above after choosing your direction, vehicle and lane. It only calls a crossing shortest when matching official wait reports are available. Also check your starting point, destination, toll, tunnel vehicle restrictions and approach traffic—the lowest border-processing number is not always the shortest total trip.
This page checks its official sources every 60 seconds while open. The agency timestamps reveal when CBP or CBSA last changed an underlying report; agency updates are not guaranteed every minute.
No. CBP and CBSA estimates describe border processing for the selected direction and traffic type. This tool deliberately shows Ontario 511 road events and cameras in separate sections.
The Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge connects I-75 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, with Highway 17 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. It is included here with both official directions, a camera, warnings and tolls.
Each crossing normally operates 24 hours, but closures, lane schedules and temporary restrictions can occur. Check the live port status and operator source before leaving.
Requirements depend on citizenship, age, travel mode and immigration status. U.S. citizens commonly use a passport, passport card, enhanced driver’s license or trusted-traveler card at land borders. Confirm your specific situation with CBP and CBSA.
Rules, limits, permits and declaration requirements depend on the item, destination and traveler. Declare goods and check the controlling rules before you leave: CBSA restricted and prohibited goods for entering Canada and CBP Know Before You Go for entering the United States. Cannabis cannot legally cross the Canadian border even where it is otherwise legal; see the Government of Canada border guidance. This tool does not replace customs or firearms advice.
For U.S.-bound traffic, yes when CBP is actively reporting that lane. Closed, unavailable and unreported dedicated lanes remain unavailable; the tool never substitutes the standard-lane number. CBSA’s public CSV does not separate those lane programs entering Canada.
Commercial processing is reported for all three, but the Detroit–Windsor Tunnel has vehicle, hazardous-material and dimensional restrictions. Check the tunnel operator and customs agencies before routing a commercial or oversize vehicle.
A camera may show approach traffic, a toll queue or a different direction and lane from the one you selected. “No Delay” is the agency’s border-processing estimate, not a visual traffic count or guarantee.
No. It shows current official reports and, where CBP supplies it, clearly labeled observed-versus-typical hourly context. Weather, incidents, staffing and traffic can change quickly, so this tool does not invent a future crossing recommendation.

Entering Canada and entering the United States are two different trips reported by two agencies. The tool reads the Canada Border Services Agency report for Canada-bound travelers and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection report for U.S.-bound travelers. It then compares only equivalent direction, vehicle and lane records.
