The Mackinac Bridge Authority runs a driver assistance program around the clock for people who would rather not make the crossing themselves, which is common enough to be a standing service rather than a favour. An Authority driver takes your vehicle across for $10 plus the normal toll for that vehicle. You must be at least 18, and you complete the Authority's waiver and vehicle checklist before handing over the keys. It runs in both directions, 24 hours a day, including during high-wind advisories when ordinary drivers may be held or escorted.
