Where Is the Good Snow?

Tell us where you are, how far you will drive and what kind of winter day you want. The tool searches the reachable Michigan snow field and returns the strongest real-world snow zones instead of making you interpret a statewide map.

Find the best natural snow within your drive limit. The engine first searches NOAA/NOHRSC snow depth across reachable Michigan, refines the strongest zones, checks them against nearby observations, then adds recent snowfall, forecast survival and routed drive time.

Device location is optional and is not included in analytics.
What the score means: current ground snow carries the most weight because fresh flakes cannot rescue a bare base. NOAA/NOHRSC snow analysis discovers strong snow zones instead of checking only preset towns; nearby observations validate the modeled depth. Disagreement lowers confidence. Recent snowfall can improve a zone; forecast warm rain can sharply reduce it. Drive time filters the candidate set instead of making farther snow look artificially better.
